National Trust
The National Trust is a charity, and is completely independent of Government. The organisation has 3.5 million members and 52,000 volunteers who gave 2.3 million hours in 2007/08. Its aim is to protect and open to the public over 300 historic houses and gardens and 49 industrial monuments and mills. The National Trust relies for income on membership fees, donations and legacies, and revenue raised from commercial operations such as the joint venture with Sodexo Prestige at Ickworth House.
Set in spectacular gardens, amidst beautiful National Trust parkland and woods, Ickworth House is just one of these venues, offering a striking backdrop to any corporate event. The West Wing provides superb new visitor facilities, as well as catering for conferences, launches, private dining events and Christmas parties, and a percentage of proceeds from these events go directly to The National Trust.
A lot of hard work and investment has gone into transforming Ickworth House, Park and Gardens in the last few years, making it a memorable place to visit, do business in, or celebrate a special event.
At Ickworth, the National Trust and Sodexo Prestige have formed a unique relationship to provide an outstanding quality of service to clients and visitors; this is exemplified in the offer to corporate clients and wedding parties. By working closely together, and by really listening to what clients want, we use the truly impressive resources of Ickworth to create a magical mixture of stunning venue, unforgettable service, and that extra special something, be it croquet on the historic lawns, a marquee amidst the wildflower meadow, or gala dinner.
